Seed sprouts with weekly payments
Great news!
In an effort to help you snag your Seed earnings more quickly, Seed has officially moved to a weekly payment schedule, and we're now processing payments each Thursday. So, as long as you hit your payment threshold ($10 for PayPal and EFT; $25 for paper check) and you've provided your financial information, you'll have much more flexibility in requesting payments.
Sure. We'll give you a moment to let this happy news sink in. Consider it an early Valentine's Day gift from Seed to you.
Here's how it will work. Everything hinges on 10am ET Tuesdays, so mark your calendars. If you're eligible to request payment by then each week -- and you actually do request payment -- then it will be processed that week. If you miss the 10am ET Tuesday cutoff, your payment request will be processed in the following week's batch. I've put together the below table to make it clear:
|
Payment Request Submitted

PayPal Payment Received By

EFT Payment Received By

Paper Check Payment Received By

By 10am ET Tuesdays

Your payment will be processed one week later, per the above schedule.

You'll quickly notice from this table that if you've selected to be paid through PayPal, you'll receive your payments faster than any other method. PayPal payments go out before EFT/check payments. And, since our PayPal payment threshold is $10, you can request payment more frequently than you can if you're signed up for payment via paper check (EFT threshold is also $10).
If you're not set up to be paid through PayPal yet, we encourage you to do so. It's easy to do: Navigate to your Getting Paid page (click your green PAY ME NOW button on your Dashboard). Then, if you've already set up your financial information, simply click on the blue Change To link next to each payment option. The changes you elect will go into effect with your next payment request.
By the way, we're seeing that there are still about 1,100 of you who haven't yet set up your financial information. Please take a few minutes to do so, and consider going with the PayPal option. To set up your financial info, click on your green PAY ME NOW button on your Dashboard to get to your Getting Paid page. Fill out your W9 information, and then you'll be directed to select your payment method. We're paying out thousands of dollars in purchased assignments, so now's the time to get your financial info set up. Then, once your article or photo is purchased and you hit your minimum payment threshold, you'll be ready to go.
We have updated the Getting Paid section of our FAQ's to reflect these changes, so read up there for more information.
Moving to this more frequent payment schedule is just another way we're constantly working to enhance our features and functionality. And, we're rolling out more of these on a weekly basis over the next handful of months. So, get ready for more good news to be shared in this blog space.
If you have questions, leave them here in the comments section, or email us at contact@seed.com.

(page 1 of 1)This is all pending that your seed submission doesn't sit for weeks without an answer though.
You're absolutely right, Ray. We're currently working closely with our editors to limit the due date time frame to shorter periods, allowing for more frequent and timely review. Please know this is a hot-button issue that we're trying to solve.
The good news, though, is that we're more on track with hitting our review period targets. And, once your submission is purchased, you can more quickly request payments. As a former freelance writer myself, I can't *begin* to tell you how happy this one enhancement makes me!
So, from my perspective, it's encouraging to be making these steps in the right direction. Thanks again for your patience as we work through these issues.
Warmly,

Kristi,
Thanks for the update. This is wonderful and makes me appreciate SEED that much more. Keep up the great work, folks.
Wendy
Thanks, Wendy!
I am new here at SEED and have found the payment process frustrating. It took forever to get my payment posted and even after I submitted for payment I still have yet to get paid. I have spent an incredible amount of time just trying to get answers and to get paid from SEED. I write and shoot for several sites and have never had this problem. At this point, I am very disappointed with the structure and communication at SEED.

Beyond this, if I can help answer further questions, let me know and we can arrange a time to chat.
Best,
